Roundtable 41 – Valletta, Malta
Roundtable 41 took place in Malta, on 17-18 October 2019. It was opened by an inspiring key-note speech by Hon. Evarist Bartolo, the Minister for Education and Employment of Malta, and an address by Ms Agata Sobiech, Head of Sector (DEAR), DEVCO, European Commission.
Roundtable offered workshops on the conceptual foundations of Global Education; the role of evaluation frameworks in GE; and, integrating GE into schools – global school and whole school approaches.
Three workshops presenting Global Education experiences in Malta focused on: Global Education practice in primary and secondary schools; Reflections on Global Education in non-formal education; and, Global Education in Policy and Practice.
The 2nd day of Roundtable included perspectives from Latin America on Global Education presented by Mr. Eugenio Possel from the Chilean Agency for International Development Cooperation (AGCID) and from Ms Andrea Vignolo from the Uruguayan Agency of Development Cooperation (AUCI).
The GENE Peer Review Process in Estonia and the first Joint Initiative between Slovakia and Portugal were also presented. The Roundtable was closed at the Chamber of Commerce with the Award Ceremony which recognised three new ideas in Global Education in 2019.
